How I Feel About Swear Words
I personally don’t swear anymore. There are two reasons for this. First and foremost, it is against my religious beliefs. The second reason is because if you really think about it, swearing is just poor grammar, plain and simple.
For example, rather than saying “What the Hell are you doing?” you should just say, “What are you doing?” – There is no need to swear. Adding Hell to that sentence doesn’t make it more powerful.
Now, if it is part of an expression that is actually factual, I can see why people would swear, but I still don’t see the need. – “It’s hotter than Hell” – makes sense because you are using the swear word properly and are comparing the temperature outside to the alleged hot temperature that exists in the worlds view of Hell.
And then there are the people, mostly teens, who think it’s cool to swear and they just can’t seem to get it out of their systems. It’s not that hard people.
Long story short, swear words are for the uneducated, unless they are used properly.
